Race description
The 29th National Magurka Mountain Run is an annual running event organized since 1997 by the “Groniczek” People’s Student Sports Club in Bielsko-Biała. The mass-participation race promotes mountain running and an active lifestyle. The 8.8 km course, with 509 m of elevation gain, starts in the Straconka district and leads to the summit of Magurka, passing through the scenic area of Mała Straconka and forest trails. The event attracts leading Polish mountain runners as well as competitors from abroad, and the course is professionally secured and clearly marked.

The race starts in Bielsko-Biała, in the Straconka district, on Pikowa Street (opposite Karczma w Straconce). The course is very clearly marked and secured by race officials, technical and medical staff, and the police. The event takes place regardless of the weather. Competitors’ insurance is the responsibility of the sports clubs they represent. The race has 12 age categories, from primary school pupils to veterans. Mountain terrain, online registration, timekeeping, medals. Entry requirements include a medical examination or parental consent.
