Race description
The 12th Book Run ON THE TRAIL TO THE GOAL is an open running event organized by the UMK Alumni Program and the UMK Marathon Club, dedicated to the community of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and enthusiasts of running and reading. The race takes place on the university campus in Bielany, Toruń, and its route runs through forest paths and avenues of the academic grove. Participants must cover the distance while holding a book weighing at least 100 grams, highlighting the event's unique nature that combines sport with the promotion of reading. The patron of the race is Robert Małecki, a crime novelist and UMK alumnus, who actively participates in the run and meets with participants after the competition.

Race office open from 9:30 AM. Electronic registration until May 20, 2026, and in-person registration on race day. Entry fee payable cashless on site (by card or Blik). After the race, a meeting with patron Robert Małecki during the Picnic with a Pump on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the UMK Alumni Program. Additional classification "With Małecki" for runners with the author's book, with results calculated by an algorithm considering time and book parameters. Forest terrain, electronic and in-person registration, approximately 3.51 km distance, promoting reading and physical activity, participation of Robert Małecki.
